Despite a pretty lousy day (weather wise) in Blue Hill today, I’ve left my mooring and am headed out. It took a bit of doing to figure out how to get to the boat without leaving a dinghy on the mooring—I ultimately ran a line from my pier to Resolute’s mooring so my wonderful wife Ruth could haul in a kayak when I was on board.
It was even more challenging in the conditions—winds of 18kts gusting to 25. But I got it done.
It’s 37F on deck and 57F below—feels balmy down there! The wind is quite gusty—sometimes 12kts, sometimes 22. So I’m starting out with a reef and my storm job just to be sure it’s all working properly. This afternoon, the wind is forecast to build to 28-30kts, so I want to be ready.
The tracker should be working now; I’ll post again tomorrow if my sat phone cooperates.
That’s all for now.

Good sailing, Scott. I just read your post, got my telescope, and there you were, just beyond Harriman Point!
Looks like clearing skies this afternoon, but a bit breezy and a bit chilly.
John
Stay dry !
Have a great sail. Look forward to getting your posts.
Good trip, Scott!
Scott – following your trip with great interest. Rough conditions to start but sounds like you are prepared as always. Look forward to the updates. Safe travels. Frank
Hello Scott,
Sitting here in aft deck of catamaran “Gizmo”, 65′ M&M on the border of Nicaragua & Honduras makes it hard to comprehend 37 F on deck while I hunt for shade after the morning surf session. Glad to hear you are on the move. Also good to hear you’ve been doing the Laser thing. Are you sailing with Carston & company? Nice folks. Just remember it will get warmer every day and soon you’ll not know where to stash tose heavy socks! Hope you have a great winter. We’re slowly working our way to British Columbia but Baja Mexico is next long stop.
Non Voyage!
Look forward to getting through the Gulf Stream and some warm water sailing.
That, of course, should be “Bon Voyage”!
Way to go Scott. Our best for clear sailing.
With this weather front and wind you will make great time for a while. Sail safe!
Fair winds and following seas, sent with prayers too.
Have a safe trip and wave toward Virginia when you go by.
See you soon, Karyn and Dave
Good luck Scott. We look forward to seeing you on arrival in Antigua. Another wonderful day in Paradise for the crew of Bravo!
Stay East as much as you can. Wind has been more south than normal and very light.
Have a safe passage.
Galen
Good going and good luck.
God speed Scott. ——Nancy Gleason
