After a bit more than two days at sea, I’m settling in to my routine—mostly:
- Reading and listening to audiobooks (I’m working on Red Notice now)
- Checking the chartplotter (for AIS vessels) and radar screen (vessels and/or anything else that might show up) every 20 minutes
- Eating (when I feel like it)
Happy Easter, Scott. Glad everything is going well. (P.S. very glad that you set up the blog/tracking site – works nicely.)
I just finished Red Notice and thinking of sending it to you! Very timely book and it’s a real page turner!
Be safe, Karyn
Happy Easter, Scott. I’m sure Ruth secretly packed you a Chocolate Bunnie in your meal box?
Scott, are you sailing close to or away from the big Contanier Ships’ route? How do you protect your boat from getting hit by one of the hundreds of “boxes” swimming out there?
May your journey continue as peaceful as it does currently. All the best, Kurt
Happy Easter, Scott. Safe sailing!
Scott, Congratulations on reaching the latitude of your ice gate. I hope the water temperature moderates somewhat to make deck work a tad more pleasant.
Happy Easter, Scott. The blog and tracker are even easy for a ten thumbed.luddite like me!
Sounds like a piece of cake, Scott. Like just another day at the office. In your shoes I’d have droopy eyelids from searching the waters for sharks or white whales. Happy Easter! Love, Dad
Tracker is working great; we’re checking it frequently. We hope your passage is smooth and your routine allows for some rest – and some hot food & drink!
Hi Scott:
Your cousin John Snow here. I have been tracking your progress multiple times each day and find your journey fascinating. I hope to be on the dock in Newport when you complete the race.
All the best,
John
You are amazing. SO prepared and steady. I am learning that navigation stuff by watching you. Thank you for the tracker. Can you post your waypoints as you change directions so I can keep plotting?? Really amazing.. will be cheering all the way for you!
Hi Scot, You look to be making good time, sail fast and straight
Safe travels, Scott! What a trip! Red Notice is a great book. I just finished reading a detective story called The Day of the Lie (William Brodrick) which is about the behavior of the Soviets and East German Communists after the war. Fits in well with Red Notice. Now I’m on to The Good Assassin about the CIA.
I hope that the next few days won’t be too rough.
